I always post fills directly, even if they extend to 2-3 posts. I have a kind of weird thing where I like posting to the kinkmeme exclusively for a while (sometimes for months). The longest work I've ever posted to a kinkmeme was 5.8k of fic over 3 posts.

Me too! I think I like doing it because I've had fics I've loved taken down from AO3/LJ/Tumblr, but they were still posted anonymously on the kink meme, so it was nice to still see them somewhere.

It also probably stems from not having AO3 when I predominately wrote on kink memes back in the days of LJ, so all those long fics had to be posted in full.

Cool! You make a great point about take-downs. I've certainly had favourite authors delete their accounts, even without the dodgy interventions of the site owners.

I also didn't have an AO3 account when I first started participating in kinkmemes. So that's probably where I picked up the habit and well, once I develop a habit I don't tend to break it.

I never participated in the old LJ kinkmemes (I was still lurking back then), but I don't envy you the old character limits. What was the longest fic you ever posted to LJ in parts like that?

I think the longest I ever posted was 15K+? Though I do remember reading some very long stories posted on the Star Trek 2009 and TSN kink memes that were well over 15K by the time they were finished.

I think the only way I'd post something that long on a kink meme now is it was something I knew I wouldn't attach to my name on AO3.
