I'm all about Chirrut/Baze and Jyn/Cassian at the moment. I'm also intrigued by Cassian/Bodhi, Galen/Bodhi, and Galen/Krennic. Uhh... and tentacles/Bodhi.

Welp, I'm a natural multi-shipper so broadly any/any + convincing author (or dynamic I like), but I'd prioritise the following: Baze/Chirrut, Chirrut/Bodhi, and I surprised myself by shipping Jyn/Cassian. For the villains, I'd be interested in seeing most variations on Tarkin/Krennic or Vader/Krennic and some very specific flavours of Krennic/Galen. I would be beyond delighted to see Leia/Jyn, but I suspect the necessary AU-ness of it will mean it remains rare, but hey, hope springs and all that.

I can pretty much ship anything, but I'm bummed about the lack of female characters in each movie because it means little to no femslash.

I just want one of my large fandoms to have more femslash (and not always-a-girl AUs because that's not the same thing).

I also can enjoy Jyn/Cassian, Cassian/K2SO, or Cassian/Jyn/Bodhi.

For other Star Wars:

The original trilogy--Han/Leia forever! That's the only one I care about.

New trilogy--don't care, but Obi-wan needed a girlfriend or boyfriend, he was so hot!

The Force Awakens--Finn/Poe forever! But I also like Kylo/Hux and Finn/Rey is sweet.

Were there any other science-types out there impressed that Galen (the movie) realised that of course the Empire would eventually be able to finish the Death Star and its super-weapon without him?

It always annoys me when movies insist that tearing up a lab or killing one or two key scientists is enough to stop a project; as if the data isn't backed up in five different places and three other labs are working on the same damn project elsewhere in the world, probably. If you want to kill a project, you kill the grant-money, obviously.

Heh, yeah that was pretty cool. I was a little weirded out by the whole group of Galen's engineers being about a dozen white old guys. Seriously, were there just no junior assistants or early career types? It was weird. Or is that normal in engineering? I'm extrapolating from a research lab, here.

It's been two weeks since the movie came out and it's obvious RO has a waaaaay smaller fanbase than TFA. Even in terms of fic and kink meme activity, it's pretty small. I wonder why that is. Any theories?

Not sure, but maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's action-heavy and everyone dies. If you want to ship, mostly you're going to have to go pre-cannon for a handful of characters or completely AU. I personally struggle not to spend a page or two of writing justifying any AU (even simple ones) and that can put me off.

Another reason might be that the loads of characters in Rogue One got less screen time and therefore are harder to characterise in fic. It might take a while for established fanaons to come up before people feel comfortable writing them.

I like that it's a tinier fandom. It'd be nice if the kink meme was more active, but too much activity usually means a lot of similar prompts, or so many prompts that fills get lost in the shuffle.

I know a lot of people didn't connect to Rogue One they way they did to The Force Awakens, so that probably has something to do with it. I also think the nature of the ships has something to do with the smaller fanbase.

I just wanted some opinions on how many days I should wait after asking a prompt-clarification question of OP? What if they don't get back to me, should I post anyway, or just leave it in case I've gone horribly off-prompt in a way they don't want?

Post anyway. Prompts are just that - prompts. You don't owe it to the OP to write a fic 100% in line with their prompt. If they don't want what you've written....well, that's the risk you take prompting on a kink meme. As a writer, you're doing a kindness by filling a prompt, you're not obligated to write every aspect to their liking. If they want something ridiculously specific, they should write it rather than request someone else write it.

My rule for writing prompts is to not write anything that would squick or trigger the OP, but the rest is up in the air and that prompts are more like guidelines than rules.

Posting Lengths

I know each kink meme differs, but what do you all think is too long to post as a fill before you just link out to AO3 or tumblr instead?

Just curious to see other opinions.

I always post fills directly, even if they extend to 2-3 posts. I have a kind of weird thing where I like posting to the kinkmeme exclusively for a while (sometimes for months). The longest work I've ever posted to a kinkmeme was 5.8k of fic over 3 posts.

AO3 collection

Our mod seems MIA, so does anyone know if there's a RO collection set up for the kink meme on AO3? The only RO collection I found isn't for the kink meme (and made me side-eye a little ngl).

Wondering because I'm writing some kink fills I'd like to add to any existing collection before I orphan them on AO3 (some things I'll write, but not under my AO3 name lol)

Has anyone tried contacting the mod on tumblr? I don't have one so can't... otherwise I don't know if there's anything stopping us from *making* a collection attached to this kinkmeme, though I'd rather it went through the mod's own channels. Eh, thoughts?

Prompting or Filling

I'm always curious about kink memes and the ratio of prompting to filling. So fellow anons, do you prefer to only prompt or only fill or some combination of both?

I go way toward the filling end of this because I suck at coming up with ideas. Kinkmemes are one of the best sources of cool inspiration and I'm especially keen on seeing prompts for weird rare-pairs or weird situations (or both).

I've been active on three kinkmemes in my time and I've posted maaaaybe three prompts between them. I've filled once here so far, but I expect I'll end up doing a half-dozen or so, depending on how much activity is maintained.

Genderflip AU - female Vader?

To elaborate this I took it here:
So a female Darth Vader, or (if we go with the dutch word for "Mother" like Lucas went with the dutch version of "Father") Darth Moeder...mhhh...maybe that needs some work.... Anyway!

So, female-Anakin gets preggers:
1)She would know it is two babies from the start or from early on in the pregnance.

2) Obi-Wan would know at some point. I don't know what is canon about him knowing about Anakin and Padme, but since he didn't rat out Anakin to the order he has to tolerate it to some degree. As would he with the babies. What else? Make f!Anakin have a abortion? That is very much not jedi, and wouldn't go over with f!Anakin at all.

3) Obi-Wan: So, what is your plan, f!Anakin? Battlefields and babies don't mix well.
f!Anakin: Fake a "MIA", speed up the pregnance with healing meditation, hide m!Padme and babies, come back, win this war, leave the order and live happy ever after with my family.
Obi-Wan:...okay...

4) Palpatine would help. Oh, would he help, that bastrade... Two tiny babies to influence from infancy? Sweet!
Obi-Wan disapproves of your love? And of the children you are carring, f!Anakin? The jedi are weak and have lost their way. You are a holy vessel of the force itself.
Here, I will help and give you a place to hide while you are pregnant. I will give you anything you need. Come to me with any sorrow you may have, my dear.

5) f!Anakin having visions of the babies (and m!Padme) taken away from her and/or dying and slowly going crazy/dark side in her hiding place.

So far everthing is close to what happened in the movies, but I think it would be a shame to not incorporate that we have dark mother figure here. A mother that births further darkness...

So, we need to change up the series of events.
6) m!Padme notices that f!Anakin is totally wack when she comes back. He maybe discovered what Palpatine's plan is and wants his children out of his influence. He and Obi-Wan go to save the children and it comes to the duel between f!Anakin ("The jedi want to take my children! I knew it all along!"). That is leaving m!Padme dead, Obi-Wan with the babies on the run, f!Anakin crippled. Obi-Wan alerts the jedi order.

7) While f!Anakin is getting suited up, Palpatine gets attacked by Mace Windu and Co, but kills them. He declears the jedi traitors and gives Order 66. The jedi are spread thin, and even after the warning, many die still and have go into hiding. The remaining jedi and younglings try to hold the temple, but are surrounded by enemies now. When f!Anakin wakes up and askes for Luke and Leia. Palpatine tells her that they are "lost". The jedi killed them, because they feared the children's power.

8) BUT Palpatine can give her new children. The younglings at temple. f!Anakin should take away the jedi's children as the jedi took her's. So she goes, kills the jedi and the older padawans, which leaves the too young and too scared children at her mercy. Those which she will raise as her children of the Sith.

9) The whole shebang leaves more jedi alive and adds more force users on the darkside. In the next years there will be a back and forth between the secret jedi-order and the children of the sith. Maybe Darth Moeder (eh... we need to work on the name) grows suspicious and goes looking for the twins. There are those two young jedi,who seem so familiar...
With more jedi alive to help and more sith snooping around. Obi-Wan keeped Luke and Leia close to him, raising them himself.

- onesided love from Obi-Wan to f!Anakin ("You were always jealous that Luke and Leia aren't yours, so you took them and maid me kill m!Padme!")
- Darth Mama's favorite little Sith: "Mother found her true children? I will not be replaced by a spoiled jedi-child. I will kill them myself!")

- the twins having to duel because one of them went dark

Does anyone know if there are any fic exchanges or big bangs being planned for RO fandom? I'm not very active on tumblr so I don't know what fandom is like over there, but I'm curious if there's anything in the works or if the fandom is still too small for such events.

this is a very long shot but does anyone recall a short(ish) kylo/phasma fill for the tfa_kink (or starwarskinkmeme)? it was kind of tragic and angsty, and appears to have been deleted.
